THE PARADOX OF RELIGION

Following the Mumbai atrocities,i am left with profound doubt as to whether this world will ever be a model that Functionalist like Emile Durkheim made us to believe.Contrary to what we keep fooling ourselves,i have come to the realisation that, sometimes life is not worth all the fuss and excitement associated with it.

The images from Mumbai,of mutilated bodies will remain embedded in the memories of those unlucky ones to have been part of it.The ruthless mass murder made me for once to think about the 'Paradox of Religion'.Will we live to see a world in one religion and be a people of a common goal?Certainly not for this generation and many to come.

Intriguing to this dilemma though is the fact that when acts of terrorism are commited, countries from mainstream Asia, the former soviet Union and the lost continent of South America remain in muted positions. No comments given ,no comments taken.

Is it a clash of religion that make us to despice one another as a people?Whose religion is to blame?
